Oil and gas platforms represent the primary energy generation facilities and are at the forefront of the world’s current energy supply. Production, refining and storage provide available, static and attractive targets for sabotage, insurgency, piracy and terrorism while transportation system attacks will disrupt supplies of raw or refined products further affecting the supply chain, downstream production and profitability.

Damage to static facilities is likely to affect production for extended periods of time, particularly in remote or hostile environments and predisposes to pollution and environmental risks and financial consequences.
