Training Courses

Maritime Training

The training requirements for maritime security personnel are set out by the amended STCW code which currently requires all personnel engaged or operative on a vessel and have duties within the ship’s security plan to hold the STCW Certificate of Proficiency (PDSD). The course is mandatory for all armed or unarmed members of a Maritime Security Team to be completed once during their seafaring career.

Approved Ship Security Officer courses (SSO) are especially suited to ex-marine SF candidates or RN staff with sea experience or knowledge of ship operations. This course has pre-requirements for enrolment and is particularly suitable for those who wish to move into a Maritime security role as a Ship Security Officer. Allied to additional courses on firearms training we can provide appropriate skills, training assessments and approved competencies for those applicants who may require additional familiarity, skills and capabilities with the safe use and regulation of firearms under the maritime security regulations and guidelines.

For more experienced personnel who wish to obtain higher certificates of competency training in maritime safety, ship handling, marine cyber security and offshore oil/gas facilities may be facilitated.

Training may be offered directly or through our partners.

Basic Resuscitation Training (AED)

Alongside our extensive training portfolio through 14Intelligence we also offer training in Basic Life support (BLS) and the use of Automatic External Defibrillation (AED) for those whose previous training certification is about to lapse or ab initio. Additional training will also be provided in the recognition and early management of hypersensitivity reactions and anaphylaxis.

Courses can be offered for teams or on a corporate basis at one of our UK training facilities.
